Singin' With The Sprouts is a bluestone backyard shindig with big, warm feels and threads of scruffy existentialism, tightly wound with classic garage pop hooks. A fresh take on the Melbourne jangle of the past decade or two, never veering too far from the Velvets/Modern Lovers/Go-Betweens through-line.

The Sprouts are comprised of some current day champions of the lo-fi jangly pop scene. Astute listeners will pick up on the earnest yet unfussy charms of Rob Remedios, Matthew Ford, Innez Tulloch and Tom Marinelli, all of whom have put in long hours with some greats of the indie underground including Dippers, Chook Race, Ill Globo, Thigh Master, The Small Intestines and Permits.

The album's first single 'Hit Me Go Down' is a wistful tribute to growing older and the fragility of memory. Drawing on his time working in the memory clinic at a hospital, Rob Remedios weaves a melancholic tale where flashes of a glamorous past remain vivid, even as parts of the story begin to slip away.

Singin' With The Sprouts is out November 20 on Lost and Lonesome (Aus) and Meritorio Records (EU).
